Who is Energia Renewables?

17 November 2022: Irish energy provider Energia Renewables has reached a key milestone in the development of the North Celtic Sea offshore renewable energy project, as seabed surveys off the coast of Waterford have been successfully completed.

Where will Energia Renewables work?

They said it would initially focus on Ireland’s south and east coasts, where Energia Renewables says it has already completed extensive development work over the last four years at a north Celtic Sea site with capacity of up to 900MW as well as a south Irish Sea site with similar capacity.

When will Energia Renewables' North Celtic Sea project start?

Energia Renewables’ North Celtic Sea project is one of the most advanced offshore energy projects in the south-east and anywhere in Ireland. Subject to progressing through statutory approvals, construction could commence in 2026 in time to meet Ireland’s 2030 climate action targets.

How many turbines will Energia Renewables supply?

Energia Renewables have partnered with ENERCON to supply seven 4.2 MW turbines with a tip height of 126.5m. Once operational, the 25.2 MW site will generate enough green electricity to power around 14,500 homes.
